Historisk intimbarbering
"In Ancient Egypt, pubic hair was considered ugly and unhygienic; depilation was practised by both men and women. In Ancient Greece women were completely depilated; young boys depilated their legs but kept their pubic hair, which was considered highly erotic. In Europe in the Middle Ages, aristocratic women adopted depilation after the Crusaders brought the practice back from the Middle East. (The practice was, apparently, terminated by Cathrine de Medici). For most of European history, however, the shaving of pubic hair seems to have been a minority practice." (Cooper, s. 84, 114-115)
